WASHINGTON, D.C. – “A recent Gallup Poll of opinion regarding firearms ownership in the United States shows gun grabbers are on the wrong side of history,” gun law expert John M. Snyder said here today. He’s the Gun Dean, notes Human Events.
“Politicians and media personalities should pay attention,” he added.
According to the poll, support for a ban on handgun possession dropped from 60 percent in 1959 to 26 percent today.
“This is staggering,” said Snyder. “It shows that such support dropped about 35 points in the last half century or so. That is a tremendous shift!”
Another item shows that in 1996, support for a ban on semiautomatic firearms was at 57 percent, with 42 percent against. Now the figures show 43 percent in favor of the ban and 53 percent opposed.
“The meaning is clear,” said Snyder. “The gun grabbers have lost and are losing the public relations battle over the individual Second Amendment civil right of law-abiding American citizens to keep and bear arms. Anti-gun politicians better take note, or are cast onto the dustbin of history where they belong.”
