Obama, Holder and Melson the Three Stooges of Fast and Furious
WASHINGTON, D.C. – “Obama, Holder and Melson are the Three Stooges of Fast and Furious,” John M. Snyder noted here today.
Snyder is the Gun Dean, according to Human Events.
Snyder pointed out that, “President Barack Obama, Attorney General Eric Holder and Acting ATF Director Ken Melson all are eschewing responsibility for and even lack of timely knowledge of operation Fast and Furious. But who really believes them?
“As president and CEO of the executive branch of our government, of course, Obama ultimately is responsible. He is the Stooge in Chief.”
Fast and Furious was an operation of Project Gunrunner of the Justice Department’s Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF).
ATF allowed and even promoted the illegal transfer of thousands of firearms from the United States to Mexico. Criminals then used many of these guns in the perpetration of felonies in Mexico and the United States. These felonies included murder, even the murder of American law enforcement officers.
“What we’ve got here is the involvement of a branch of the Justice Department in the commission of heinous, lethal crime,” said Snyder. “For the Three Stooges to try to get off the hook for this is more than a stretch, it’s a genuine outrage. Obama himself has been quick to blame the chief executive officers of corporations and banks for the activities of their respective organizations. Now it’s time to hoist the Stooge in Chief on his own petard and hold him responsible for these activities of the federal government.
“True to form, Obama, gun rights opponents in Congress and the media and others will try to shift the blame for Fast and Furious in other directions. They will attempt to blame what they will claim is the inadequacy of United States gun laws. But who in his or her right mind is going to lend them any credence?”
Snyder said, “The real problem is law which empowers the federal government to behave in such a nefarious fashion. The remedy is repeal of such law and the electoral defeat of officials who support such law.”
